REVIEW: KIKO Moon Shadow Stick

This week I'm focussing my eye crayon on this Kiko Moon Shadow Stick - and the best point of all is that this eyeshadow crayon is the DUPE of Week 1's Chanel Stylo Eye crayon.

If this crayon has fell into my top 4 then it proves that it is a good as the chanel!
Overall the 2 crayons are both completely different shades, which will make this comparison a little different but Kiko has formulated the same key ingredient as Chanel's (water-infused)
If you read week 1's Chanel Review you will know that I explained the water infused technology as a really cooling sensation on the eyes, and they also are waterproof on the eyes.
Kiko have done a great job with creating such a fantastic, affordable eye crayon which can be pulled off on the eyelids for any look.

This shade that I have from the Moon Shadow range is a gorgeous Cool Champagne Gold called 'Glamour Gold' which I really think works with so many looks and can really make the eye lid stand out with such a bold but still subtle shade.

The texture has a great bendable consistency which feels sheer on the eyes and also sits under any eyeshadow if you wanted to layer the product (I love to do this with eye crayon)
The pigment is also amazing as you can really see the chosen colour of the stick, but i will say, I found the shimmer to be a more glitter finish than just a shine.
The glitter within the crayon is not a hard grain, it smoothly blends in with the texture so it feels no different its just a more prominent glitter than the other crayons.
Great for an evening look though, when focussing on the eyelid to make the eyes pop.

I am aware that there are 4 shades in the Kiko Moon Shadow Sticks but I found this was the most wearable as the others were really deep colours.
But if you wanted statement, then you'll sure find it with these.
The longevity is also a great advantage with these sticks even without primers so you shall more than likely get a great 8hour wear with these shadows.

Have you tried the KIKO moon shadow sticks before?
What do you think to this gorgeous cool gold shade.

REVIEW: Rosie for Autograph Cream Eyeshadow Stick

Week 2 is here with a very unpredictable product…
Marks and Spencers - Rosie Huntington Wheatley Makeup Collection.

Now I came across this collection after I died at Charlotte Tilbury… and yes I can compare these products to just them.
They are FANTASTIC and I sure recommend you check out your local M&S for these products.

Rosie has a Cream Eyeshadow stick range with around 4-5 shades. Pretty much your average shades, gold, silver, grey, bronze and so on.
This one I have is a Rose Gold shade.
For some reason they don't have names on the product, maybe it did on the box but thats long gone. So yes this is the Rose Gold/ Soft Pink shade.
I would say the shades are more like shimmer sticks as they gleam beautifully in the light with no excess glitter pigments reflecting, which makes them a lot more easier to wear.

And let me tell you! Green/Hazel eyes you for sure need this shade.
If you scared of pinks but want to start experimenting then start of with this lovely soft pink stick.

Like last week I said they were so easy to apply. You need NO brushes, tools of sharpeners just the sticks and your fingers.
Literally roll them over the eyelid till you are happy with the colour pay off and blend with your fingers to soften any application lines.
They are also great as bases with loose or pressed pigments on top. i actually use this one a lot with a eyeshadow palette from her range called 'You look a million dollars'.
Once this is on, i promise it doesn't budge, so make sure you are blending after you apply - This was one of the sticks that lasted through water!

I also LOVE the rose gold packaging theme she has going on just like Charlotte Tilbury.
Makes you want it all. And its great stuff!
Focussing on the actual product now I would really recommend at least one shade from her range and they do come in so handy for an every day look and apply really easily with no faff.

Keep peeled for next week!

REVIEW: Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow Stick

Hello August,

This month I'm dedicating my blog reviews to 4 very beautiful 'Eyeshadow Sticks'
All from different brands and different shades.

This week I'm starting off with Chanel's Stylo Eyeshadow in '167 Bronze Platine'
First of I want to state that a lot of changes products are special edition so its usually a one time thing with these gold dust products, which I suggest, if you see something, get it while you can.
These eyeshadow sticks are special editions, yes, but they seem to recreate these a lot but bring out different shades throughout the season so I'm sure there are similar ones you can get.

This one was a Winter collection from a few years ago, I brought 2 shades, this Bronze and a Pink.
These sticks are a 'Fresh Effect Eyeshadow' and this may mean nothing to some people but once you use one of these you will understand the name… On application of wearing these they feel cool on the eyes and thats because they are water infused sticks, which comes from the name 'fresh'.
The feeling of this is actually really nice as they feel refreshed on the eyelids and sit lovely on the eyelids as well as working the in with your fingers also looks very sultry.

The obviously apply how they sound… 'sticks' so you don't need any brushes to apply these products either just from the applicator or your fingers. They roll up from the neck of the product by twisting it up as you use. So again, no sharpeners or any tools, which make these so versatile when travelling and applying.

The colour pigment is great, with a real depth of colour chosen and a reflective shimmer that works well for all ages as its not too glittery.
This Bronze Platine shade is a very unusual shade, its more of a cool bronze/gunmental colour which works better with a cool shades eye look or even on its own.
The overall shades are very metallic, not so much glitter or shimmery and have a great reflective angle with the lights.

I also find these sticks amazing as a base colour then to layer on any loose or pressed pigment over the top to add extra colour definition to an eye look.

These Chanel Sticks sure are a must for your makeup bags, so keep your eyes out for any new collections releasing with these sticks, or even try your local Chanel counter and see if they have any left over stock. - I actually got this bronze one when the collection finished.

REVIEW: Neals Yard - White Tea Facial Mist

Its the final week of JULY, which means the last week of Face Mist Reviews
Who's been out out stocked up on their summer face mist so far then?

Well I'm off on my holidays on Monday and at the end of this blog post I will be deciding which of these mists are coming in my beauty luggage.

But for these week I've been testing out the White Tea Facial mist from Neals Yard Remedies - thank you to my personal consultant - Kaye Booth

Neals Yard is a Covent Garden London based brand with their natural and organic products, they believe in enhancing and protecting peoples health and well-being from the root of a seed, forming into their natural plant based ingredients.

This white tea facial mist is part of there toning regime but can also be applied before and after any skincare or makeup and also refreshing throughout the day. The perfect handbag face mist.
This mist is for all skin types, it will sooth and hydrate all faces at any time of the day.

It contains an antioxidant rich White Tea extract which has the potential of reducing age-wrinkles, detoxifying and natural soothes and calms the skin.
As well as containing Calendula which is known to be an antiseptic and used for first-aid remedies which is great for any irritated, inflamed skin.
A perfect combination to keep skin calm throughout the day at a natural finish which is cooling and refreshing.

The smell of this mist reminds me of Spa (and theres nothing better than this!), its such a relaxing, calming smell, slightly lavender scented which I really loved because it actually calms your mind!

The spray bottle was also a fine mist from the pump which is a good extra to have as the mist goes on a lot more fine where as some mists can be quite harsh when sprayed onto the skin.

I feel that this mist really has awoken my skin, kept moisturised and soothed any areas that got sensitive through the day.
I also love that I have the travel size which is great to throw in my handbag - I have the 'Award Winning Skincare Set' which contains miniatures of their best-sellers and all products are said to Revitalise, Replenish and Recharge the skin.
I can't wait to try the rest of the products and I sure will be trialling them out whilst I'm on holiday so that you can have a full Neal Yard Review in August.
The kit contains -
White Tea Enriching Facial Mask
White Tea Facial Mist
Beauty Sleep Concentrate
Wild Rose Beauty Balm
Also a little sample of the Frankinsence Cleanser.

If you were interested in this kit or any individual product the contact your personal Neals Yard Consultant - Kaye Booth (or order online HERE) - quote 'SDIARIES' and get 10% OFF 馃挒
Remember then are all Natural and Organic products - which more can we love!!
Care for you skin!

So after the month of facial mists I have decided I will be taking my Caudalie Beauty Elixir with me on my holidays - mainly due to the fact that I think this face mist is one that needs to be used for a longer period of time to see a change within my skin as to be fair this 1 mist covers all areas or skin from hydrating, radiance and soothing which will all be great for my face whilst my skin will be exposed to the sun for 2 weeks.
But i have absolutely LOVED all the face mists from this month and couldn't say a bad word about any.
So my Body Shop mists will now be in my makeup/skincare kit for my clients and my miniature Neals Yard Mist will sure be in my handbag 24/7.

As for AUGUST…
I will be reviewing Eye Crayons every Tuesday.
I have a great variety of brands and colours to trial and review for you all. I can't wait!

Tune back next week

REVIEW: Vitamin E Hydrating Face Mist

We're on week 3 of Face Mist reviews, which means 3 weeks through July, Wow!
The years flying by. Hopefully your all ready to jet on those summer holidays and what a perfect time to get stocked up on your ideal face mist throughout the heat on holiday.
I sure will be taking mine.

This weeks face mist, is aimed at hydrating the skin.
Vitamin E is recommended for ALL skin types and helps hydrate and add moisture to the skin and also help protect the skin from environmental damage.

Keeping your skin hydrated is such an important elements of your skins cycle on a day to day basis. The desired skin type in a normal, well balanced pH which contains lots of moisture to keep skin supple.
When your skin is dry it causes skin to become tight, dehydrated and attract the ageing process that we all do NOT want.
The same goes for oily skin, if this is your skin type it is more than likely your skin is also dehydrated as it is producing bad oils out of your skin just to keep the skin layers hydrated, but this isn't the hydration we want. You need to purify them bad oils by conditioning your skin with moisture and hydration, not putting drying products on top. It will only make you product more bad oils.
Now do you see why I tell my oily skin clients to use oils!

Well by using the Vitamin E hydrating Mist, this will give your skin the refresh and moisture you skin is screaming for throughout the day also containing its rose water ingredient to soothe.
The mist also includes Wheatgerm Oil which is amazing as this oil contains a rich source of vitamin B6, magnesium, potassium and many more healthy nutrients that your skin is able to benefit from.
Wheatgerm is also great for skin conditions such as dry skin, psoriasis and eczema which will fully soothe and repair the skin.

Over the past week I have trailed this mist out, before makeup, settting makeup, and throughout the day to refresh my skin.
Of course I have been testing out the past 2 mists over the weeks so the benefits of those will also be working, such as the Vitamin C, grapes and mint.
Although they all do and aim at different areas of this skin, which hydration was lacking from the 2 so this week it was perfect to cover this Vitamin E mist.
I found that my skin wasn't drying out at all, and kept plump and nourished throughout the day and I'm also slightly oily on my tzone sometimes anyway so this mist balanced out my combination skin and kept it hydrated enough to prevent any oils from shining through my makeup.
Overall this would definitely be a beach bag saviour in the hot heat.

The packaging and spray pump is of course the same as the Vitamin C bottle which again I love the gernerous amount of mist that comes out, that really does spread evenly over the face with around just 3 easy pumps.
The smell is pleasant too, with its lovely soft rose scent. None of the Vitamin E range has a strong smell as it's really easy to wear for all skin types.

Well at just £10 you really can't go wrong and I can see this bottle lasting a good 4 months with it being a really generous 100ml.
Theres also so many more products in this range that will work lovely on all skin for any part in your skin routine.

So maybe this mist is the one for you?
If you have any questions or would like a personal suggestion according to your skin type then please leave a comment or drop me a message

Remember, I am a body shop consultant so you sure can get some amazing offers with me that are constantly changing and wowing us with lots of fabulous new products.

Next Tuesday will be the final week - see you then

REVIEW: Caudalie Beauty Elixir Mist

Caudalie has been a great love of mine for years now! When working at Bennetts Department store this brand caught my eye as soon as I received such fabulous training from Caudalie about all of their products at the time.

The word 'Elixir' drew me straight away, because this screams luxury, beauty and wellness all together!
The Beauty Elixir came from Queen Elizabeth of Hungary as her famous elixir of youth.
Caudalie is known for their 'paraben free' and 100% natural ingredients in all of their products.
They come from France  with their very own Vineyards as their key ingredient is Grapes… this relates to the brands Vinotherapie Spa which are limited in Spain, France, Portugal, Turkey, Canada and New York.

How amazing is it that they come from the root of our favourite thing… WINE.
Why wouldn't we want their products all over our skin.
Not only do their natural sources of grapes come from fresh vineyards, they use plant oils, super foods, and many more NATURAL ingredients only.
They are constantly on the look out for the next 'Green', 'Active' ingredient for their beautiful products.

Grape seeds are the most effective, and powerful antioxidant  in the world.
The Resveratrol from the stalks contain the anti-ageing ingredient which is targeted in all skincare and Vinerife from the grape-vine sap is the natural molecule to fight against dark spots.
Heres such an interesting piece of information…

More about the Elixir Face mist though… I have been using this for the past 7 days, under, over and instead of all makeup.
You can use this before makeup, to set makeup, between foundation and powder for an extra top tip for long wear, and also throughout the day to refresh.

The elixir is claimed to give skin a instant boost of radiance, help pores appear smaller and your complexion become even smoother.
I feel like my skin did all of those things, I mainly avoided makeup throughout last week to see how this would effect my skin and my skin is now looking glowing and feels silky soft.
My pores have never been large but I can say that I didn't see any excess oils start creeping out my pores at any time of the day, which proves it was well tamed throughout.

The mist is ideal for any of those who has dull skin, lacks radiance and a great one for those smokers as the antioxidants have the power to perk up your skin.
I also felt that this mist was a beautiful priming base for any makeup being applied afterwards, as it soaked right into the skin within seconds and didn't feel wet at all.
The feeling of it renewing the surface of your skin is like the feeling after a facial.

We also had hot muggy weather again this weekend and it completely kept my skin hydrated and clean feeling though out the days, which trust me in my studio I can get quite hot and irritated with the heat beaming through the window. So i was loving spritzing my skin after every client.

The bottle of the product to me feels really luxury, I love how it is a glass bottle and the spray bud is very fine which means the release of the pump does really let out a 'mist' instead of an attack of spray! I just wanted to spray this multiple times in every angle just because it felt so gentle.
Although at first I didnt like the light mist from the pump as I felt I needed more but as days went on I started to realise that a mist of around 3 sprays was the perfect amount your skin needs as it instantly works its magic.
So it would be really comfortable for anyone with sensitive skin also.
I would also advise this for any skin tone as no matter the texture or finish of the skin, it will work the same on everyone.

But the smell!!! It is soooo detoxing and refreshing. I wouldn't say it smells like grapes though, I would give it a more herby and lemon with a strong peppermint scent with 100% gives you the feeling of a refresh of cool air on the skin.

You can buy this is multiple sizes, my first bottle was a 30ml, but i loved it that much last time, i brought 100ml this time around. Although i would say a smaller one is better for on the go, which i do wish i hand one in my handbag every now and then.

So overall, it is up on my list and I will be giving out spritz of this on my clients skin for sure.

I also hope this opened up your eyes to Caudalie, as it really is a brand kept on the down low as its only available at certain stores.
I will love to do more blog reviews on this brand.

To purchase the Elixir Mist or any other Caudalie products be sure to pop into Bennetts Beauty Department on Iron Gate, Derby xx

Do you use Caudalie Products?
Is this Face Mist on your summer list?

REVIEW: Vitamin C Energising Face Mist - The Body Shop

July is here! I wanted to aim this months reviews of Face Mists as I really think they make a huge difference to our skin in the humidity but also how we feel as well.
This summer I've had a growing love for face mists and have brought a few different types that I can now perfectly trial out each week to give you all an insight on what they do and how they work.

Heres to Week One, I have spent the past 7 days spritzing my face morning, night, random times through the day all to reap the benefits of the Body Shop Vitamin C Energising Face Mask.
I have tested this on the skin, before makeup, after makeup and makeup free days.

I would advise you all to read my older blog post on 'Why Vitamin C is good for your skin'
I deeply go into each benefit or how this amazing vitamin works well for our skin on a product and food basis. (Saves me re-writing everything!)

The basics of Vitamin C is this vibrant vitamin is proven have huge benefits to our skin and body, wether being costumed with food and/or through product application - it is high with antioxidants which brighten the skin, boost collagen production, helps with ageing.

The Body Shops Vitamin C range is purely concentrated on the Amazonian Camu Camu Berry, this berry has up to 60 times more power than an orange!!
So we are talking extra vitamin C benefits. I know you may think, ill just eat a ton of oranges but by applying these types of products on the skin we are exposing deeper activation within your skin cells.

The outline of this Vitamin C Face Mist, instantly refreshes the skin.
Focuses to transform Dull, tired and grumpy skin into Bright, radiant, glowing skin.
It also contains Organic Aloe Vera which is great for soothing skin or prevent irritation to flare up.

From Day one of spraying this onto my skin after cleansing the first morning, woke my nasal senses up completely! The smell of this spray is so addictive, it not only refreshed my skin but I, myself had an energising wake up. Imagine a range of senses from zesty, orange, tropical smells like waking up to a refreshing rainforest or berries. I want to spray myself in it just thinking about it.

I instantly felt the energising mist wake up my skin and over the next few days my skin has looked more bright and alive with a perky glow instead of my basic morning tired look. I can physically see the glow my skin has when the light reflects on my face.
I also love how the spray has a even spritz once pumped out which evenly spreads over the face, without leaving my skin wet.
I held the spray around 30cm away from my face up to 2-3 pumps a time, aiming at beach angle.

After a full week of using this Face Mist (minimal 3 times a day) my skin is not only looking radiant and glowing but also feels smooth to touch.

I would HIGHLY recommend this mist to anyone that wants a perk me up radiant summer skin.
Wether your staying in england this summer or jetting off on holidays, this will sure be in my bag!
You all know I love a glowing look in the summer.
Im now flaunting my makeup free face today!

REVIEW: Body Shop Matte Clay Foundation

This week is the end of FOUNDATION review month and were finalising it with the 'Unreleased' Matte Clay Foundation from the Body Shop.
As you all may know, I work very closely with the Body Shop as a Home Consultant which I offer the 'home parties' and skincare consultations that I personalise to your skin type and concerns to match you with the perfect products.

I have used the Body Shop for MANY years and realised that these products are the only brand that I have physically seen and felt a difference with for any skin concern that I have had throughout each year. I now use these products in my working makeup kit on my clients and recommend them highly when it comes to certain concerns that people need my help in correcting.
Also amazing that the brand is fully vegan, uses natural ingredients - minus the chemicals and is Cruelty-free.

So when I got invited to their VIP night I was honoured with the pleasure of taking away the brand new foundation in EVERY COLOUR and also a few other bits that are new releasing for Mid August 2017. Of course this came at perfect timing as it was the month for Foundation Reviews and I knew that it was a great time to give my skin a full week dedicating my foundation finish to this new Matte Clay Foundation.

This week i reviewed this foundation in shade '026 - Tamerza Dune' - without primers, powders or setting sprays.

The overall result for this foundation is a Matte finish, and the highest 'Body shop' foundation coverage. Matte Clay 'Skin Clarifying' Foundation contains natural Tea Tree ingredients to help purify your skin throughout usage of the day. Tea Tree is well know for its cleansing power on blemishes and oily skin types so the fact that this is a heavy coverage is actually helping your skin to breathe with ingredients like this to keep kin clean and prevent clogging pores.
Don't worry if your skin is the opposite - such as dry and you do not have a problem with blemishes as these ingredients are 100% natural so they will not do anything damaging to the skin, it all adapts to your natural pH.
A tip for drier skin types would just completely treat and hydrate the skin before applying foundation to even out the service and a prep spray such as 'Vitamin E Face Mist' would be great to use before and after the makeup application to contain moisture.

Anyway, more on the foundation… The Body Shop describes this foundation to be 'Specifically formulated for clearer looking's skin, this vegan foundation perfects with 24HR coverage, whilst combatting shine and allowing your skin to breath'
From my experience throughout this foundation test for 5 days, I found that I first off fell in love with the refreshing smell when I applied it straight onto my skin.
Its not a strong tea-tree smell but its really clean and detox sensors made me feel like this will be benefiting my skin straight away.
I applied this again using my Real Techniques Stippling Brush and buffed onto the skin in circular motions.

The application was really easy and it blending beautifully into my skin whilst leaving and amazing full coverage effect with of course its matte finish. Honestly felt and looked flawless.
Although I'm not always a matte skin 'kind of girl' I love my dewy finish but i just added my highlighter onto my skin and I was happy with that!

It did last the WHOLEEE day, I didn't have to touch up at all! Sometimes matte foundations can be quite dry which causes the foundation to become patchy through the day but this foundation did none of this.
And the best part of all, the full coverage did not feel thick in the slightest! It felt so light-weight and comfortable all day which is amazing for such a high finish foundation.

I absolutely loved this foundation and it will definitely be my go to foundation when winter approaches (just can't say goodbye to my dewy finish just yet)
So i would HIGHLY recommend this foundation to in fact… anyone!
Just because lots of people avoid heavy coverage due to the thick feeling, but like i said, its the complete opposite.
So if your wanting a change, a lightweight foundation and a flawless matte finish then get your hands on this in July.

Its only a few weeks left so lets use up all your current foundation and start fresh for summer.
If anyone would like to go on my 'waiting list' for this foundation, I will happily colour match your skin tone perfectly and get it ordered for you.
So please feel free to contact me…

Before I end my final June review here the BRAND NEW Body Shop Catalogue for Autumn 2017!
Theres so many new items in here and the brand just grows bigger and bigger every month.

REVIEW: Lanc么me Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation

As you may notice, JUNE is focussing on weekly foundation reviews.
This week is Lanc么me with their Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation which has been relaunched with their new addition shades. This foundation has been on the market for a good few years and is one of their well known products in their makeup collection.

This product is one of lancomes best selling liquid foundation and also available in an amazing (now) 40 Shades!!
Lanc么me states this foundation to be 'long lasting and provides full coverage without feeling cakey'
Some amazing scientific points is that it contains 2 most oil absorbing, effective ingredients and  special pigments that consist a PH level of the skin which helps sit and absorb best with your skin tone.
I was matched up with 024-Beige Vanille which of course is a yellow undertone for me and matched my skin perfectly. It comes as a packaged sample which is pre-prepared in a box, in a squeezable tube with 5ml of product.
I applied my foundation every day with a Real Techniques Stipping Brush (Pink Handle) squoze the right amount of product on to the back of my hand and buffed it onto the skin in circular motions starting in the centre of the face and outwards.

I remember years ago, a friend who used to wear this. At that point I was all about FULL coverage, a bit like last weeks MAC review, that would have been a top fave of mine but as my skin has got better and maintains a clear, more flawless finish I can't bear a thick foundation.
So all I can say is I loved this finish!
It is "claimed" a full coverage but I have used thicker although I would rate this as a more medium coverage.
The first point I look out for in my foundations is to fully even out any discolouration/pigmentation on my skin, which is the only reason I wear foundation and is something I have altered within my skin routine lately. This foundation did that perfectly!

Another great point about this finish, is although i would say it is medium coverage I will also point out that it feels amazingly light and that I hardly have anything on my skin which is lovely this time of year and especially with the weather we have had this week.
Summer is the time of year where we debate on doing a full face or even people that feel like they 'have to wear foundation' I'm sure will admit that they hate the feeling of it in this heat.
So if your happy to tone down the full coverage slightly then I would totally throw this one your way.

I find the finish silky and fresh looking, not completly matte but also not dewy and radiant, definitely in between if I have to be awkward! Haha
I would actually compare it to my L'Or茅al True Match foundation as it starts of feeling like a liquid powder texture but develops on the skin to your natural skin type which doesn't make it either matte or dewy.
It stays true to its name of 24hour wear and comfort and it lasted from morning till night without having to touch up at all.
And I am testing these foundations using NO PRIMER and NO SETTING PRODUCTS.

I would highly recommend again to go to your nearest Lanc么me counter and get your 7-day trial with their consultants to match you up with your perfect shade (you should have no trouble with a choice of 40!)

Tune back to SDiaries next week when I review The Body Shops BRAND NEW Matte Clay Foundation which doesn't even get released until July!!

Love Sophie xx

REVIEW: MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation

Its not often that a change foundations, maybe every season?
But as i did some MAC shopping last week, I saw a sign saying 'Free Foundation Samples Available' which I thought was on their new 'weightless' foundation.
The lady in MAC asked me which I wanted so I thought, ooo Ive not really tried MAC foundation apart from studio fix and face and body so I explained to her what I look for in a result of foundations.
I like a dewy finish with medium coverage.
She decided on Studio Sculpt and gave me 2 shades (as I've still got my tan from holiday) - NC25 and NC30

Ive been testing with the NC30 as I'm at my darkest stage now, so i can go down to NC25 when i use it all up.
(NC is used for WARM skin tones, NW is COOL skin tones)
The first day I used this I did think it was way to thick for what I'm used to… Not as thick as studio fix but still enough to make my skin feel a little bit wet for a few hours.
I applied this with a Real Techniques Stippling Brush from the back of my hand and buffed it over the skin.

If I'm honest, you do not need a lot at all, which I love. Maybe the size of a 1pence piece.
So I was amazed at how little you need for a full face, and let me tell you, my skin finish was FLAWLESS!
I don't wear much makeup now due to my skin being quite clear to what I am happy with, so I never find I need a full coverage but why not try it for a week!
I wanted to do a little review on what I thought to this as lots of people struggle with foundations.

I would highly recommend this foundation to people who was medium-full coverage, have normal/dry skin and like a dewy, healthy finish.
The smell was actually quite fresh and pleasant as I find some MAC ones are a bit plastic smelling (i know, weird! Maybe its just my nose)

Although the first day I said it felt a bit wet, I still pursued the week as I really wanted to see how I got on with it.
After the first 2 days, I really started to love it! I know I don't go for a heavy coverage normally but I was really getting used to this full face of makeup, and I NEVER touched up at all.
I am going to carry on using this foundation for a while, but I think as soon as summer comes back and it starts to warm up again, I will probably keep to aside as I hate a thick, sweaty face in summer haha.

So pop to your nearest MAC shop and give it a try with a 7-day sample.

I have the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h to trial next, so stay tuned for this review on SDiaries next week.

Have you tried this foundation?
What do you think to it, or any other MAC foundation?

My New Lease Of Life

Before christmas 2016 I discovered the world of mindset.
I only dipped into it as I saw lots of influential people using this technique within their lives and businesses.
Up until January, this was the month I really wanted to delve into self development and connecting with myself more spiritually.
Ive not only watched and heard people talk more about this amazing adventure of life but also met people along the way, which are actually local to me.
The perfect time to introduce you to Buckso. This woman has really made me see another light in this as she is really deep into her spiritual connection and no this is not all woo-woo witch craft stuff haha, this is genuinely connecting with yourself on a deeper level and discovering/manifesting the future of your life but also keeping yourself presently grounded.
Every time I meet Buckso I love chatting about what she's been up to and how things have appeared or changed in her life with any of her actions through her mindset.

For christmas I wanted a book called 'The Desire Map' I thought this would be a great start to creating a path in my mind which is focussed on myself and how I want to lead my future.
I then led onto purchasing books such as '4 minutes to change your life', 'She Means Business - Carrie Green and I'm currently on 'The Universe Has Your Back - Gabrielle Berinstein' Im in love with this one by the way, its a great starter…

I then decided to add Meditation as a daily ritual. My brain really is in overdrive most of the time and I just can't switch off. Which I also think a lot of people can relate to.
At first I found it a little boring and my mind began to wonder off into what I needed to get done or something I needed to add to my shopping list for example.
But no I decided to stick it out and keep doing 10 minutes of meditation every morning when i wake up. Now I can sit their for 15 minutes and really relax my body and mind into a peaceful state where i can unwind for those few minutes.
I do listen to the guided meditations still as Im still learning a way to entertain my mind to this state and I enjoy the guidance and imagery that I begin to picture through my process.

Right this post is not all about my mindset and mediation. What I really want to tell you all is what I have discovered lately and it has taken me the 5 months to train my mind and connect with myself and the universe!

So that was a little intro for how it all started, now after 5 months I felt excitement for the FIRST time from this amazing process!
After books and mediation my friend introduced me to the fabulous little podcast app that we all have already downloaded on our iPhones! (just go onto your homepage and its the little purple mic)
I was on my way to a week on holiday (just 2 weeks ago) and she said 'Im going to listen to a few podcasts'.
I was like wait, what! How have I missed these little gems.
So I found a few of my favourite authors and motivational speakers along the way and got myself stuck in.

This was just TODAY! I found a podcast from 'Connie Chapman' on Awaken Radio. It was a show called 'How to manifest your desires by following your intuition'
Now I didnt think to deeply into it, it just caught my eye and i listened. She spoke about her issues and the desires she wanted to manifest and thats when it clicked!
I realised my true passion and desire from not only what I want out of my business but how I want my business to be!

For so long now social media in the makeup world has become huge! Especially in the UK with artists such as the fabulous P.Louise and many more talented people.
But this podcast made me realise, this isn't me?
I have been focusing on creating looks to this standard and learning new techniques to make my business appear the way other peoples do just because its so loved by people like yourselves.
And even I know from experience that my clients actually don't want looks as dramatic as them but why hadn't I clicked before now?

So I'm taking Makeup by Sophie Downing right back to where is began for me, back to inspiring artists like Pixiwoo, Bobbi Brown and many others.
You know why? Because thats where my passion and talent lies.
I don't want to be creating looks to just wow I want to create looks that my clients can relate to and inspire their own makeup to be.
Overall that comes under NATURAL BEAUTY
I rave about how natural skin products are the top of my list, so why doesn't my makeup correspond?

My creativity is always there no matter how light or heavy a makeup look is but my skills bring out the passion of natural beauty and enhancing what you have!
I don't want to change faces, make someone look like a celeb. Deep down we don't want that, we want to look the best versions of ourselves and flaunt what we already have.

After my amazing experience whilst eating breakfast with headphones in this morning I finally new what was missing. What that little gap was for how i can progress in life and my business.
Over the next few weeks I want to focus on a business clear out and really re-programme what it is i offer.
My services won't change of course, because what I do every day is always what Ive just described, its in my mindset that I'm thinking different.

Connecting with myself, mind and body has really added up those dull 5 months into thinking nothing was happening into realising my whole future and I can't wait to see what the future brings.
Its goal setting time ladies!

I would LOVE to know if you read any mindset books or listen to podcasts?
If you don't, then I hope i have inspired you to open up to this side of life.

I would also be honoured to answer any questions about this or even post more blogs on this subject if you were really curious about these things.
Either comment or email me at -

Have a fabulous bank holiday weekend.

May Holiday Makeup Bag

Ive told you my Sun Protection collection, now I'm sure your more interested in my key goodies which I took to Mallorca with me.

Lets call it my 'Spring Face'
Cause I have my August holiday to come, and I'm sure i will have a change of products for this holiday!

I could sit and write up the whole makeup bag I took with me but to be quite honest I hardly used any of it, I wanted to create makeup looks every night like i usually do but my body and mind was constantly screaming REST WOMAN!
My job is my hobby and I don't feel like I 'work' its just all fun and games in the makeup world (apart from the paperwork) but this holiday was a total lazy week which I took over advantage of.
4 books read, yes 4!!

So makeup looks didnt really happen but 6 key products were sure used every night!
Here they are…

MAC Strobe Liquid
I seem to always grab this little beauty and decant it into a pot as you really don't need much.
As your skin does tend to get dry on holidays from the sun my strobe liquid just perks up my skin and gives a lovely glow under any other product that I apply to my skin.
The iridescent dimension sits perfectly on any toned skin, although MAC has now brought out multiple shades of the strobe liquid with colour correctors in, so you have plenty of choice.

Guerlain BB+ Hyrda
I was adamant that I was NOT wearing foundation on holiday! I always am to be fair, although sometimes i only wear it to even my skin tone out. I dug this out of my kit, knowing that this has always been to dark from me from when i got given this product when i worked for guerlain I could never make the most of the luxurious BB cream on my own skin. So my eyes lit up when I knew I was getting some sun exposure.
This BB cream has the most amazing hydrating ingredients in, nourishing your skin with natural water which is made to make your skin absorb every drop! It really does, anyone with dry skin, you need this in your life.
I also love the finish of this as it keeps your skin looking and feeling moisturised for the whole duration of using this products.

Nars 'Laguna' Bronzer
There is a few forms of this no.1 selling bronzer, compact powder and liquid are the ones I own in my personal and work kit depending on your skin type or what finish you are wanting.
I knew that I was using my moisturising BB cream so I decided to take the pressed powder with me to take away any unwanted shine and also use as my contouring.
I love how this bronzer is matte enough with a natural, complimenting shimmer on the face and its the perfect shade for all skin tones, you honestly can't go wrong!

Nars 'Copacabana' Multiple Stick
Again I own a few of these stick, they have so many shades for all different purpososes. With 'Copocabana' I use this more as a highlighter and to bring out any high points on my face such as cupids bow, cheekbones and brow bones. This shade really is mid way for all yellow and pink undertones skin, and there really isn't many highlighters that can be used on both.
The glow this gives is just POPPING! You can use it from the stick or tap onto the areas and build up in your own pace.

Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer
I use this EVERYDAY, from snow to sun this concealer will be under my eyes!
It it literally crease free and doesn't set with a powdered finish which I hate in many concealers but it gives the maximum coverage under the eyes to make your look so awake and alert.
I always go 2 shades lighter in my concealers which I have the shade 'Vanilla'

YSL Kiss and Blush
And finally a great multi purpose product from YSL which i used on my cheeks and lips.
This creamy, satin texture is so luxurious on the skin and lips and really keeps the application looking smooth and even.
Cream blushes are my go to on holidays and in summer as it just gives my that summer feel knowing that my skin will just look smooth and products glide on like a breeze, especially on the cheeks, you don't want that build up in one area of powdered pigment thats decided to hold in one area and wear off of the rest.
This product again comes in various shades, I chose shade 07 as i wanted that peachy undertone and coral effect with my chosen makeup looks this holiday.
I did of course take other lipsticks so I could mix my outfits up but a coral lip in Spring/Summer will never date.
It shouts 'Summer Time' don't you think ;)

Theres my top 6 products for my spring holiday face.
Have you tried any of these?
Are any other my products on your 'summer makeup list'?

and finally, the only thing i haven't spoke about is my Holiday Skincare Routine, comment below or let me know if you would like to see this on the blog next week.

Holiday Sun Protection Favourites

You may know I just got back from my holiday in sunny Spain just last week.
Let me tell you, reality kicks straight back in! haha

But my weeks break in the sun really was what I needed, just to clear my head, relax and think about NOTHING! Yes we all need it.
I knew I needed that break just before wedding season really kicks in at the end of May!

I thought the perfect post to kick start back into May for you all was my 'Holiday Sun Protection Favourite'
To be quite honest we all just go to our closest Boots store and grab our usual sun protection from 8-50+ but we don't really think about the other factors of what a suncream really does for our skin for every minute of that sun exposure.
Yes protection in NUMBER 1 on the list to why we need this but this year I decided to really put more focus into what I wanted from my tan and the feel of my skin.

Have you heard of this sun care brand?
'Prepare, protect and prolong your tan, with or without the sun'
Doesn't that sound too good to be true!

Well my first usage of this was a face cream which I purchased for my holidays last year as I don't like using the same cream for my face and body just due to the ingredients in a body cream is very different to one focused for the face only.
I used to break out horribly from these body creams on my face, and a mix of sweat of course.
So i brought Lancaster Face Protection learning from my beauty experience that this brand is focussed on -
- Overall Sun Protection
- Gaining a sun kissed, healthy, even tan by helping release the melanin to a higher surface of the skin
- UVA (Prevention of lines and wrinkles - A is for Ageing)
- UVB (Prevention to burning rays - B is for Burning)
- Infrared Technology (Goes deeper than UVA & UVB as it helps keep the skins firmness and elasticity - which is proven that to much sun exposure makes skin feel and appear loose as time goes on)

I have literally never found a brand with such beneficial factors, so I knew I needed to experiment with more!
I want to explain to you what factor i used and how the products felt on my skin throughout my holiday.

Lancaster Sun Beauty
Velvet Touch Cream - Radiant Tan for the Face
SPF 30
From using this cream last year it never failed me a second time around!
In fact I hadn't brought a new tube this was purely half full from last year so I may as well use it again.
For a SPF 30 this face cream is not as thick as you may expect, as soon as its applied and worked into the skin it soon sinks in leaving a smooth, non-sticky finish.
This product is a silky texture which glides on and thoroughly protects this skin as I have not had any Burning issues when using this face protector as I used to always seem to burn my forehead where I pull my hair up out of the face and a popular nose burn like lots of people seem to get.
Which does not look nice with ANY makeup over the top!! haha

Lancaster Sun Beauty
Melting Tanning Milk
SPF 15
Now this one was a new-be, I have never used a Lancaster body cream before now and let me just say, i will NEVER by any other!
My skin was constantly smooth, silky and baby soft throughout my whole holiday!
Usually i can get quite dry with the sun drying out on my legs and elbows always seem to harden up when i go away, but using this beauty my skin contained so much moisture and hydration it makes me want to wear its everyday!
Infact I really am tempted to moisturise in this haha!

The texture was finer than the face cream but thick enough to feel protected and moisturised.
I had the 400ml bottle just because it was a better price than buying a small one, when i know I'm going on holiday again in a few months so i knew it would last me.
I would say i used around 100ml so I have plenty left and proves i didnt need to use so much.
I on average applied suncream over my whole body 3x in a day.
Which really may be recommend 3-4 time a day to keep the highest protection, but I sure am a sun goddess, and was soaking it up every minute of the day.
And again i didnt burn ANYWHERE in the whole week i was there!!!
I would highly recommend this amazing sun cream to anyone going away.

Lancaster Sun Beauty
After Sun Tan Maximiser
For Face and Body

This product I have brought for the past year every time I've been a way.
After a shower in the evening there is nothing worse than no aftersun and leaving your body to feel dry and dehydrated so of course I purchased a new bottle of this as I really did want to buy all the products so that I could reap the benefits of this brand.
Yes it worked!
I came home with a lovely warm, sun kissed tan with my healthy yellow undertones leaving my skin nicely tanned and even.
This product is described to be used after sun exposure and when you get back from your holidays to pro-long  your sun tan and keep it long lasting even when back in rainy england.
I think I read or heard around a month of prolonged tan when sticking to using it, so I'm still applying this after every shower.

The aftersun, is a lightweight texture so it does not feel thick when you apply or after it has soaked in which can be a hit or miss for some people depending on what they prefer.
I actually really like it as i do love apply body oils on my skin throughout the week so they really went hand in hand.
One thing i will say is the smell of this product is quite a sting, prominent, musky smell in my opinion but once it has soaked into the skin the smell does fade, so you can easily apply fragrance over.

But again I have always seen a difference with my tan and how long it lasts when using this is the past.
Im just hoping it will be even better now i used the suncream with it on my holidays too.

Last but not least

Ok so this one does not contain any SPF but i grabbed this last minute for my packing as my lips were so dry and chapped before i went away and I do love a lip balm or crayon around the pool in the day to keep them moisturised.
I absolublty LOVED this lip wax, it was honey and peppermint, which was so refreshing and my lips became smooth and hydrated through the holiday.  Im still using this now, although i do love a good lipstick everyday back at home but it still works under or over any lip colour.
You can also get this in different types such as Coconut, Pomegranate, Strawberry and many more.

Have you tried any of these products on your holidays?
Or are you now curious to try these products yourself?

Stay tuned for next weeks blog post on 'May Holidays Favourite Makeup Products'

ISSUE: Preventing Your Makeup From Creasing

If you follow me on Facebook you may have seen my recent question that I asked…
'Do you struggle with one area of your makeup? If so what is it?'

Your feedback was a great, and there was a huge variety which was a good and a bad thing for me to help with haha but gives me a hell of a lot more blog posts to write up.
So I decided to start off with this issue first… Preventing you Makeup from Creasing.

Many of you have the issue with under eye creasing, especially when your wanting to keep that dewy effect.
First off, you may thing of the obvious thing… Primers and yes this is number one on my list too.

1. Prime
Be sure that with anything you do on your face/eyes that you have a primer underneath. They really do smooth out any unevenness you may have, prepare a base for following products and hold the product for longer.
(Your under eye primer will be classed as you face primer and there is no product directed to that area only)

2. Prepare your eyes with a easily absorbing eye cream.
A key tip to creating flawless under eye concealer. As many of our eyes are actually dehydrated and we don't even know it.
So by using a eye cream before applying our makeup will hydrate the area so that our makeup does not sit in any lines or dryness around the area.
(Also if you are in a rush to let the eye cream absorb, just blot the area with tissue after you apply to take away the excess)

3. Add drops of oil to your concealer
Some concealers are very drying and hard, so scraping the product our and mixing with a drop of facial oil with loosen the product and help sink into the skin more.
My favourite Facial oil…

4. Use fingers not brushes!
By all means apply the concealer with a brush if you directing at certain areas but for a setting finish and and even coverage press the product with your fingers. The warmth of your skin will help dissolve the product more smoother and prevent the creasing issue.

5. Choose lightweight formulas & less product
One we can easily get wrong is buying thick concealers just because we think it will cover better, well thats where your wrong as everything is buildable, but knowing how much we need is another issue.
So don't over do it and 2 layers is usually enough for everybody.
You don't want a caked under eye.

6. Avoid to much powder
Again its all about building your coverage and not going OTT too soon.
Sweep your fluffy brushes lightly under your eyes until you have fully set the concealer

7. Blot
A underrated trick now days is blotting your skin. Most popular for oily skin types to control the oils through the day but using these little sheets under the eyes also has the same impact.

My go to under eye concealer which actually contains many of my tips is of course the Body Shop 'All in One Concealer' which comes in 5 shades.
'Our all-in-one concealer is lightweight yet hardworking, camouflaging imperfections and bags with an easy to blend formula. Infused with vitamin E and Community Trade Marula oil , choose from one of the 5 shades for long wearing, silky-smooth coverage.'

Do you have trouble with your makeup creasing?
Give these tips a go and see if I have your cure!

REVIEW: Burberry 'Dusky Pink' Lip Velvet Lipstick

You may all know that I went on a mini holiday/city break to the BEAUTIFUl Barcelona.
All I can say is this was an amazing experience to what I'm used to when I go away on summer holidays.
Just due to the fact that a city is all about exploring and sight seeing such an interesting place.
5 days was just enough, we literally did and saw everything, including a bike ride and walking 25,000 steps per day!! Calves were in agony.

But I'm back to reality and was straight back to weddings on the saturday, good job i love my job :D

Of course whilst I was in Barcelona we went shopping at the Cantalunya area with all the luxury designer boutiques.
I really wanted to tray myself to some sort of accessory like new shoes or a handbag, but i didnt fall in love with any that afternoon. Then my eyes were drew to the Burberry Makeup stand in their boutique.

I couldn't help myself but to buy their latest Spring 2017 Velvet Lipstick.
In shade 'Dusky Pink - no.406'
For Spring Makeup Trends this year is big for the dusky rose shades with a grey undertone.
I had already discovered VB for Estee Lauder as her lip colour was pretty similar with the grey undertone, that I was thinking about going back for but of course Burberry pipped the post!

Look at this beauty!
You didnt think i just got a tube of lipstick in its packaging right?
Oh no, it came in its own little cylinder box, gift wrapped in a Burberry bag.
Im paying for the little things, i know, but how could I resist.

Burberrys Lip Velvet range are their most pigmented lipsticks, giving the most colour pay offs than the others.
Im one for the deep pigments as I want to see the colour on the lips and it not just look sheer and invisible, so I knew I wanted this range.

Burberry claims these lipsticks to be;

  • Discover the modern way to wear matte, inspired by the most opulent of English fabrics.
  • The richly pigmented lip colour glides on effortlessly, delivering a creamy, soft-matte finish with elegant and bold full coverage in one stroke. The light-as-air, comfortable-wear lipstick delivers defined shape and continuous colour with a lasting velvet finish.
  • – One-stroke full coverage
  • – Creamy, soft-matte texture
  • – Non-drying formula

All that is bang on.
I love the creamy formula and the soft matte finish that this lipstick gives to a look.
However lots of matte lipsticks dry quite hard and dry on the lips which causes to flake throughout the day whereas this one stays creamy.

The gorgeous packaging has a magnetic seal on the lipstick top and comes with the classic burberry textured fabric printed on the lipstick and the casing.

All I can say is go out there and treat yourself!
Im temped to get one of the 'Liquid Lip Velvets' next in the striking 'Bright Crimson' which is like a neon coral, I wish i got both now…
I can see this being my go to summer lip for sure!!
